You are the One!

Happy Thursday Good People!!

To all my Norfolk State University fam , Happy Homecoming week Spartans, Behold the green and GOLD! To all of the wonderful Bisons and Tigers that joined together in the DMV last week babe we had a time, and I am so glad I was able to get a two-step in the name of Nashville with people I love.

Before this week ends, I want to give you all a few reminders as you think about the remainder of Q4. October really pulled up like I am not going to be here for a long time just a good time…. And here we are at 10/24 with 69 days left in 2025. There were soooo many things on each of our minds and hearts coming into this year. We came in with excitement , energy, and optimism ready to get things done with a fresh perspective and blank canvas. We have painted those canvases over the past 10 months while life continued to LIFE. ( I know I can speak for each of us here)  We showed up in spaces on purpose and with much intention even when we were hurting and in other cases we dropped the pen , sat the project down and pivoted into new experiences and opportunities. No matter how much you accomplished or how little you crossed off that list thus far KUDOS to you for trying and still being in the game 1st string , 2nd string or on the bench!

As I was traveling the past few days, I heard loud and clear You are what YOU have been looking for…

The first time I heard it I pushed back because I felt like that’s pressure ….

The second time I heard it I became a bit emotional because the weight of the assignment had sat in a bit more ….

And now today as I write this entry in a very thoughtful , very demure manner I want to remind some of you , that you too are who and what you have been looking for. While you may feel like you need a large team to execute the dream let my life and my moves be an additional reminder that You have what you need until you get the team! You are what you have been LOOKING FOR and when you finally lean into that you will see the vision clearer and you will spend your days less frustrated enabling you to work the gift, gather and connect your family etc. more efficiently!

As you LIVE your way through the next few weeks sit with the things that frustrate you and ask yourself how I can be the one , the pillar to serve and get this done for me and those I love! With every turn and obstacle and distraction ACCEPT that you are the one and you are strong enough to do it!

Somebody else reading today may say I already know that I am the one and I have accepted it, but I am struggling with my belief that IT can be done , that the promises I am still waiting to come to pass can really happen.

Can I sing to you? ( Muni Long Voice- I can do this for hours lol) but no seriously.

I believe the storm will soon be over…. (even if there’s no storm I believe your belief in the promise will be restored)I believe the rain will go away…

I believe that I can make it through it…

Ooo I believe it's already done…

I believe family will get better…

I believe God will provide…

I believe the promise that He made…

Ooo I believe it's already done....

I believe it is already done but you still have a responsibility friends!

You must take action when it comes to what you believe . Go back to the post it notes, the prayer wall , the journal or notebook , the notes app in your phone and write down what YOU are believing GOD to do by the end of this year. Be brave enough to focus on ONE thing you want to see happen before it ends and let’s rejoice in advance on behalf of the ONE thing that we know GOD can do because he will!!

I did not expect to go here today but there’s definitely something powerful that happens when I am obedient to sharing what GOD gave me in my own quiet time. I promised to never gatekeep a message because I am sure that there are some that are just for me but there are many that are for me and others!

Go in peace this beautiful day with a renewed sense of belief and a restored confidence in what and who you are !

You are the One and this my friends is still THE YEAR!!!

2024 ain’t over yet so you can’t give up now! Don’t wait to start over , just START!
